KSA to replenish reserve funds
The Kingwood Service Association (KSA) Board of Directors approved allocating 50 percent of a 2017 operating budget "under-run" into the KSA
The Kingwood Service Association (KSA) Board of Directors approved allocating 50 percent of a 2017 operating budget “under-run” into the KSA Capital Asset Reserve Funds. Those reserves were depleted by the board in its fourth quarter 2017 meeting to fund major recovery costs following Hurricane Harvey. The board authorized up to $400,000 from the reserves to cover immediate and extraordinary recovery costs to repair and reopen the KSA park system, especially East End and River Grove parks. The renovations are nearly complete. All parks are now open with the exception of River Grove Park, which is expected to reopen Jan. 31. However, there will likely be significant river dredging costs at River Grove Park in the future depending on what both the City of Houston and the Harris County Flood Control District commit to do regarding the San Jacinto River channel and how that will affect the boat launch area at River Grove Park.
