Neighbors told investigators that Jenkins, who apparently has a criminal history, was the victim's son and had been living at the home.

Officials said Jenkins, who'd been out of prison for only a few months, violated his parole on Friday and that a warrant had been issued for his arrest, KTRK reported.

He is being held without bond in the Harris County Jail.

The case is under investigation.
