Mercer Botanic Gardens opens Shakespeare Garden

The public is invited to attend the opening and dedication of the Shakespeare Garden at Mercer Botanic Gardens Monday, April 23 at 10 a.m.

The new garden is the first of its kind in Houston and replaces an underutilized lawn area. Features include antique roses, boxwoods and seasonal color surrounding an open sitting area. Strategically placed garden benches overlook a decorative water fountain and William Shakespeare bust to form a quiet enclosure reminiscent of gardens popular during the English Renaissance.
