New Caney ISD Substitute Charged With Possessing Child Porn

Kenneth Morphis is charged with three counts of possession of child pornography and is being held in the Harris County Jail.

KINGWOOD, TX — A substitute teacher in New Caney ISD was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of child pornography. Kenneth Morphis, 62, was arrested at his home in the 2000 block of Lake Creek Drive in Kingwood on Thursday morning.

Investigators with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constables Office Criminal Investigations Division conducted a probe into the online trafficking of child pornography.

Investigators determined that pornographic images with children were being downloaded by someone living at a home in the 2000 block of Lake Creek Drive in Kingwood.

Precinct 4 Investigators arrived at the home in early morning hours of Sept. 27, and executed the warrant on Morphis home. While police were gathering evidence, Morphis allegedly confessed to investigators that he had been seeking and obtaining child pornography online.

Investigators examined Morphis' laptop computer and found a cache of child pornography and arrested him at his home.

Morphis, who is a career educator, was charged with three counts of Possession of Child Pornography, and was taken to the Harris County Jail. His bond has been set at $30,000.00.
