I hope you all had an absolutely wonderful Thanksgiving filled with love, laughter and good food! This year, A Grand Affair helped Kingwood Service Association feed the Houston Fire Department firehouses in Kingwood and Atascocita, the Houston Police Department and the Constables at Precinct 4 who were on duty for the day at their various locations. We served Thanksgiving sandwiches – turkey, ham and cornbread dressing topped with cranberry sauce on sub rolls and lots of festive desserts to hopefully give them a taste of the Thanksgiving table. When we make these sandwiches at home the day after the big feast, we slather on a layer of mashed potatoes as well and either use the gravy like mayo or on the side “au jus” style. But we didn’t want our first responders to slip into a tryptophan and carb coma so we made them this way instead.
