Out and About - "We couldn't have had a more gorgeous day..."

Welcome, everyone, to Out and About – here to catch you up on what’s happening in the Lake Houston area!
We couldn’t have had a more gorgeous day for the inaugural Play for the Pink Golf Tournament at The Overlook and Atascocita Golf Club. Sunny, blue skies, mild temperatures and Patsy Oliver serving cold beer at The Tribune’s hole made for very happy golfers. Tournament chairs Gwendolyn Crawford and Ken Kirchhofer started off the day welcoming everyone to registration where In the Pink chairs Cynthia Calvert and Cristi Cardenas got everyone situated before sending them off to the dining room where A Grand Affair served breakfast tacos as well as complimentary bloody Marys and mimosas provided by Nico’s. A late afternoon lunch was served by David Welch and FireCraft BBQ to the hungry but happy crowd, which included Larry Shiflet, Tim Baker, Dave Crawford, Noel Cardenas and Mike Byers. The swag bags were full of some absolutely amazing donations. A few favorites were the pink RTIC insulated mugs as well as the adorable golf-themed decorated cookies from Yummy Tummy. Gina Remmes also came by with the first few weeks of sales from the Pink Out T-shirts at Atascocita and Summer Creek High Schools. Gina and her committee, including her daughter, Christina, raised more than $9,000 for In the Pink. Amazing work all around!
