Police Find Submerged Car, Body In Trinity River

A car found in the Trinity River on Sunday could he the one Jennifer Perkins was driving when she vanished Jan. 2, police said.

LIBERTY COUNTY, TX — A car with a body inside was fished from the murky waters of the Trinity River on Sunday, police said. The car is believed to be the same vehicle driven by 48-year-old Jennifer Perkins, who vanished on Jan. 2.

Perkins was last seen leaving her Houston home on Jan. 2 and driving a 2012 Chrysler 200, possibly toward Sheridan.

Witnesses said Perkins was wearing leggings with boots, a jacket and a pink hat when she was last seen.

Investigators said she appeared to be upset when she spoke with friends on the phone before she disappeared.

Officials said there was a body inside the car, but they have not established a positive identification.
