When the season started, Kingwood didn’t have a place to even practice football because of the devastation from Hurricane Harvey. Fast forward two months and the Mustangs have earned a trip to play at NRG Stadium.
It’s a fairy tale story of sorts; Kingwood (5-5) persevered, made the playoffs and now will face Clear Lake (8-3) in an area round matchup at 4 p.m. Saturday in the stadium where the pros play.
