Thanksgiving tradition seeks volunteers, donations

Humble ISD elementary students color the placemats beforehand, and there will be local entertainment and a Kid’s Corner.

The event was started by a committee of five women who attended First United Methodist Church, said Chairman Bonnie Gardner. During the first feast around 900 people were served. It is dine-in only with no take-out, to encourage everyone to mingle with volunteers, sponsors and community members. Delivery is available for those who live in Humble but are unable to attend. Because the meal is provided free of charge, monetary donations are being sought to help alleviate the associated costs. Read full story at OurTribune.com.
