Thief Stalls Stolen Pickup In Mud While Fleeing Burglary: Police
Larry Lyles, 28, is faces several felony charges after he was arrested shortly after he stuck a stolen pickup in the mud.

SPLENDORA, TX — A man who police say was on parole, is back behind bars after he was caught driving a stolen vehicle. Larry Lyles, 28, faces multiple felony charges including felon in possession of a firearm, burglary of a vehicle, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and burglary of a building.
Police were called to a home 24700 Hayden Road for a car burglary at about 9 a.m. Monday.
The victim told investigators that he came out of home and saw a Hispanic man standing near his car. When he walked out to his car, the man quickly walked off.
The victim said he noticed his wedding ring was missing from the car, and called police. While police were conducting their investigation, they got a call about a stolen truck and trailer in the 14200 block of Morgan Drive, just a few blocks away from the initial call.

When police were responding to the area, they found the truck and trailer stuck in the mud and two men standing nearby.
Police identified one of the men as Lyles, and during a search recovered the wedding ring reported stolen in the previous car burglary.

Police also recovered stolen items inside the stolen pickup. The man who was with Lyles was released. Lyles was taken into custody and is in the Montgomery County Jail where he is being held without bond.
