Frisco, McKinney among the safest cities in US
Frisco and McKinney are in the top 15 safest suburb cities in the United States, recent study shows.

Frisco - A recent study released by SmartAsset has placed Frisco and McKinney within the top 15 safest suburbs in the nation, although neither city achieved the highest ranks.
SmartAsset, esteemed for its in-depth analysis, placed both cities high on its list of safest cities, but their placement was slightly lower in the safest suburb ranking.
The study evaluated 370 suburban regions, all within a 15 to 45-minute commute from the 100 most populous US cities. Included in the evaluation were areas with a population of at least 5,000. The assessment criteria incorporated violent and property crime rates, vehicular death rates, drug poisoning mortality rates, and the percentage of residents indulging in heavy drinking. These rates were normalized per 100,000 inhabitants to ensure consistency in comparisons.

Interestingly, the study also analyzed safety across the country's 200 largest cities using the same safety metrics, offering a comprehensive understanding of safety at both city and suburban levels.
Frisco clinched the eighth spot on the suburb safety index, with McKinney securing the thirteenth position. Though commendable, these rankings were limited by slightly elevated property and violent crime rates in comparison to other suburbs on the list. However, it's crucial to note that both Frisco and McKinney remain among the safest suburban locations across the country.
