Frisco - In an ambitious move for the city of Frisco, 29 hiking and cycling routes are slated for development, with four of them currently under construction, Dallas Metro News reported. According to the city's capital improvement projects website, these four trails are anticipated to be completed between mid-2023 and late 2024.

The Dominion Trail, a noteworthy endeavor, commenced its construction phase in October. When complete, this 1.2-mile trail will feature pedestrian bridges and will be nestled between Hillcrest Road and Molina Drive. With an estimated cost of $4.8 million, the trail's completion is expected by the end of 2023.

The Monarch Trail, a shorter 0.2-mile pathway, is set to bridge the gap between Monarch View Park and the PGA trails south of FM 423. Based on the city's YouTube trails update, the project carries a $1.2 million price tag and is projected to be ready by midsummer.

Meanwhile, an extension of the Starwood Hike and Bike Trail is in progress. The trail currently spans 1.3 miles from Sweeney Trail to Lebanon Road. The planned extension will stretch the trail from Starwood Park to the Gate Trail. The extension, costing approximately $400,000, adds 0.34 miles to the trail, making the entire length just shy of 2 miles before it connects with the Gate Trail at Dubai Way. Completion is expected in early summer.

Lastly, the FM 423/Panther Creek H&B Trail, a new addition, is designed to integrate an existing path coursing through the Estates at Rockhill neighborhood with the Frisco on the Green Park on Teel Parkway. This project, valued at $1 million, is slated for completion in late 2024.
