Frisco’s interim fire chief was promoted to Frisco Fire Chief

Lee Glover, the provisional head of Frisco Fire Department, will be ascended to the prestigious position on a full-time basis.

Frisco - The Frisco Fire Department confirmed on Monday that its interim leader, Lee Glover, will now be Frisco’s Fire Chief permanently.

Glover, who started his term as provisional head in September 2022, has now been formally transitioned into the role of Chief. His elevation has been welcomed warmly by the department staff.

Wes Pierson, the City Manager, expressed high praises for Glover. He recognized Glover's mix of deep-rooted experience, extensive insight, and proven leadership skills as unparalleled among potential contenders.

"Lee's combination of experience, knowledge and leadership was the best fit for the department," said Wes Pierson, city manager. "I believe Lee is deeply committed to the success of Team Frisco and will work hard to serve our community and members of FFD."

Glover's service to the Frisco Fire Department is deeply rooted, stretching back to 1991. He served admirably as an Assistant Chief from 2009 to 2022 before his appointment as interim Chief, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to service.

"I'm truly honored to be chosen as the next Fire Chief of Frisco," said Glover. "We will continue to provide outstanding fire and emergency medical services. But we'll also focus on fire prevention, too. We'll continue to adhere to the highest standards and be a department our residents, businesses and all our employees are proud of."

Comprising administrative personnel, a fleet department, fire prevention team, and a devoted 233-member force for fire operations, the Frisco Fire Department runs like a well-tuned machine, employing 278 individuals.

Glover’s educational achievements mirror his illustrious professional journey. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce and an Associate degree from Collin College, reaching the executive fire officer rank thanks to his outstanding abilities.

An active member of several professional organizations such as the Denton County Chief's Association, the International Association of Fire Chiefs, and the Texas Chief's Association, Glover emphasizes his commitment to the ongoing advancement of the firefighting profession.
