Texas grocer H-E-B to open another store in Frisco

H-E-B, the prominent Texas-based grocery chain, has revealed plans to break ground on a second store in the city of Frisco.

Frisco - H-E-B, the prominent Texas-based grocery chain, has revealed plans to break ground on a second store in the city of Frisco, aimed at serving the communities in the eastern parts of Denton County, including the vicinity of Little Elm, Dallas Metro News reports reveals.

Slated to be situated at the intersection of U.S. 380 W. University and FM 423, also known as Gee Road, the new store will contribute to the convenience and shopping options of the local residents. As per the recent announcement, the potential grand opening of this new location is targeted for late 2024.

Frisco welcomed its first H-E-B store at 4800 Main St. only last year, in September 2022, a testament to the grocer's commitment to expanding its footprint in the area.

“This new store builds on the company’s longstanding presence in the area and reinforces its commitment to serve more customers in this dynamic and growing part of Texas,” said Mabrie Jackson, senior director of public affairs for H-E-B.

In the recent expansion of its operations, H-E-B has inaugurated a new branch in the northern suburb of DFW, Plano, late last year. Future plans include a wide-ranging network expansion across North Texas with upcoming establishments slated for Allen, Alliance in Fort Worth, Mansfield, and McKinney. June will witness the groundbreaking ceremony of the second H-E-B store in Frisco, with more specific details to be released at the event.

Simultaneously with this store announcement, H-E-B made headlines by declaring its venture into eCommerce with the launch of a fulfillment center dedicated to curbside pickups and home delivery orders. This facility, due to open later this summer, signifies H-E-B's first foray into such a business model in North Texas.
