Mother's Day 2017: Make Her Day in Houston A Special One
May 14 is fast approaching, so here are a few great ideas to give mom the time of her life.

HOUSTON, TX — Do you have Mother's Day all planned? Flowers ordered? Dinner or brunch reservations made? Gift purchased? If not, get going, because Sunday will be here before you know it.
With that in mind, we've put together a slate of five eclectic and fun events (in case you have procrastinated) that are sure to please any mother.
Mother's Day Weekend at Bayou Bend, Saturday, May 13, and Sunday, May 14: If you've never been to Bayou Bend, Ima Hogg's beautiful home, these two days are the perfect time to go, because mothers and grandmothers will get in for free ($10 for adults, $5 ages 10-17, and free for ages 9 and younger). Stroll the grounds, see the American art collection housed in Bayou Bend, and enjoy the music of Ars Lyrica Houston.

DASH Spring Market at Silver Street Studios, May 11-14: How about taking your favorite mother shopping, so she can select a gift she really desires? If that's your plan, then this market is a must-do for you. Jewelry, textiles, clothing, antiques, decorative art, and more ... there's bound to be something for everyone here.
I Love You Berry Much: A Mother's Day Celebration at The Woodlands Children's Museum, May 13: This special event offers mothers and their children the opportunity to spend some quality time together while drinking berry lemonade and eating cookies, all while creating a work of art designed to celebrate Mother's Day. You'll pay $5 per person, plus the cost of admission to the museum ($6), money well spent. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Mother's Day at Hermann Park, May 14: What's better than breakfast with mom in the beautiful surroundings of Hermann Park? You'll start with breakfast on the terrace of Pinewood Cafe overlooking McGovern Lake, then you'll complete and arts and crafts project together, followed by a pedal boat excursion and a train ride. $12 per adult, and $6 per children, but act with haste and make reservations here. All the fun begins at 8:30 a.m.
Breakfast at Tiffany's screening and Mother's Day brunch at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Mason Park, May 14: Calling all Katy ladies and their loved ones, this is for you! Oh, Audrey Hepburn, you were wonderful, and Holly Golightly was a perfect role for your talents and beauty. Take your beautiful star to brunch and treat her to some great food and a classic film. This special screening begins at 11 a.m., and you can reserve your seats here.
