Man Charged in Shooting Death Of 10-Month-Old Boy
Infant was with father outside home when gunfire erupted; police are seeking two additional suspects.

UPDATED on June 21: Police officials in Houston made an arrest in the shooting death of 10-month-old Messiah Marshall. Jared Balogun, 24, confessed on Monday and was charged with capital murder related to the June 14 incident.
"No murder in the City of Houston is acceptable, but let it be very, very clear when there is a child or a kid murdered in this city we are going to expend every and all available resources in order to find these people and bring them to justice," Sylvester Turner, the mayor of Houston, said during a press conference on Tuesday.
According to police officials, Balogun's rap sheet includes myriad arrests for minor crimes. He was in jail for an unrelated offense when authorities charged him in connection with the shooting death. He confessed during an interrogation about another crime.

Police officials said the shooting may have been related to a gang dispute, and are seeking two other men they suspect of being at the scene of the crime.

HOUSTON, TX — A 10-month-old boy is dead after being hit by gunfire on Wednesday afternoon in southwest Houston. He and his father were, according to police officials, sitting outside in the 5300 block of North Braeswood around 1:30 p.m. when the shooting took place.
Details are still sketchy, but officials said that three men were involved the shooting and are still at large.
The boy's father ran to a Valero gas station that was nearby. "He was screaming and said 'somebody shot my baby,'" an eyewitness, Mari Hidalgo, told KTRK.
