SWAT Standoff In Southeast Houston Ends Peacefully

Woman in custody had fired shots at man in her Murr Way home's backyard.

HOUSTON, TX — All's well that ends well, even when shots are fired.

A woman is in custody after having barricaded herself in her home in the 11300 block of Murr Way in southeast Houston on Monday afternoon.

Police had responded to the property after reports of shots being fired. Witnesses reported that a woman had been firing at a man in the backyard of her home, then returned to her house and locked herself in, refusing to come out.

According to Houston Police Department officials, SWAT members were called to the home after the woman defied police orders to give up. Two children belonging to the woman were inside the house during the incident, but no injuries were reported.

Officials said that no charges have been filed and that an investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
