Astros' A.J. Hinch Named Baseball America's Manager Of The Year

Baseball America tabbed the Houston manager after 101 wins and a World Series championship

HOUSTON, TX — Baseball America named the Houston Astros' A.J. Hinch as its Manager of the Year on Tuesday. Hinch is just the second Astros manager to win the award — Larry Dierker won it in 1998. Inch guided the Astros to 101 regular-season wins and the organization's first world championship in a seven-game thriller over the much ballyhooed Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2017 World Series.

Hinch also won the Esurance MLB Award as Major League Baseball's Best Manager earlier this month.
He finished third for the American League Manager of the Year award voted on by the Baseball Writers Association of America before the postseason. The Minnesota Twins' Paul Molitor won that award.

Hinch has a 271-215 regular season record in his three seasons with two playoff appearances and a 14-9 postseason record — those 14 wins are the most by an Astros manager in the team's history.
