Cha Ching! Astros Cash In On Record Gate Profits From Playoffs
Houston brought in more than $30 million — the largest payout in baseball — to be equally distributed among the club

HOUSTON, TX — The World Series championship just got a little sweeter for the Houston Astros organization after the club learned Monday they’ll split a record $30,420,155.57 in postseason pool money. The full share amount is $438,901.57, with 60 full shares, 9.23 partial shares and four cash awards. This is the highest payout amount of all-time. In comparison, the Cubs in 2016 had $27,586,017.75.
The amount is determined by total gate receipts from the playoffs and World Series of all games played. The total 2017 combined players pool was a record $84,500,432.15, which will be split between the 10 postseason teams.
