Astronaut Eugene Cernan, who commanded Apollo 17, passed away in January.

HOUSTON, TX — The home owned by the last man to walk on the moon is on the market, and it can be yours for $2,550,000. The Mediterranean-style house in Piney Point was owned by Capt. Eugene Cernan, who passed away in January, KTRK-TV ABC13 News reported.

In 1972, Cernan commanded Apollo 17, NASA's last manned mission to the moon, leaving his footprints on the lunar surface. Cernan served in the U.S. Navy before becoming an astronaut in 1963, and Apollo 17 was the last of his three flights in space.

His home went up for sale last week, ABC13 reported. With more than 6,000 square feet, it has four bedrooms, three baths and one half bath.
