Houston Police Arrest 'Worst Nightmare' Gang Members

Authorities say quartet had engaged in series of violent robberies and sexual assaults.

HOUSTON, TX — Houston police officials say they have busted a foursome who had engaged in a series of violent robberies and sexual assaults in midwest Houston.

"These people are your worst nightmare," Steven Hendry, a senior officer with the Houston Police Department, said at a press conference on Tuesday. "These violent gang members committed robberies, some were driveway robberies, and in six cases, they ambushed people inside their homes."

Police officials say the four individuals — Marquis Sirls, 20; Treveon Stockton-Williams, 24; Khiana Washington, 18; and Mohagany Ireland, 20 — were arrested on Feb. 22. Sirls was charged with aggravated sexual assault and burglary with intent to commit sexual assault, and all four were charged with aggravated robbery.

Hendry said that the four concentrated on homes in the midwest section of Houston, where they would often tie up their victims and, at times, engage in sexual assault.

According to police officials, the four were taken into custody after one of them was caught with a handgun inside a convenience store. A search of the car they were driving uncovered, according to authorities, evidence linking them to crimes, including stolen property and a handgun.

Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo said he was working with Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg and her office to apprehend and prosecute gang members and criminals.

"We know we have a real challenge in our city as it relates to violent crime, violent robberies, and people being subjected to sexual assaults," the police chief said. "The city of Houston is no longer going to tolerate this violent crime."
