HSPVA Calendar: May Dates You Need To Know
Graduation is coming, but before it does there's still a lot going on in the school.
It's been a long and rewarding year at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, and it's winding down, but you can't let up until graduation. There are tests, art shows, theater performances, and more, and Patch wants to make sure you keep up with all the action. Get your cap and gown ready, stock up on some sunscreen, and prepare for summer.
Here are the dates in May that HSPVA students and parents need to know:
Wednesday, May 10: Creative Writing Guild Meeting, 6 p.m.; Theatre: Senior Acting Recital, 6 p.m.

Thursday, May 11: AP Exams (World History); Visual Art: Open Call Salon Show; Visual Art: Installation & Performance Show, 3;45 p.m.; Theatre: Senior Musical Theatre Recital, 6:00 p.m.
Friday, May 12: Vocal: Pop Concert, 4:30 p.m.; Theatre: Senior Acting Recital, 6:00 p.m.; Theatre: Thespian Celebration, 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, May 13: Vocal: Pop Concert, 7:00 p.m.
Monday, May 15: Blood Drive; Senior Awards, 6:00 p.m.
Tuesday, May 16: Orchestra Concert, 7 p.m.
Wednesday, May 17: Special Education Parent Forum, 6 p.m.
Thursday, May 18: Mariachi Concert
Friday, May 19: Finals — 7:50 a.m. (1st period exam); 10 a.m. (2nd period); 11:15 a.m. (lunch); 12 p.m. (3rd period); 1:10 p.m. (4th period); 2:25 p.m. (5th period); 4:00 p.m. (senior picnic)
Friday, May 19: Creative Writing Fish Fry (Freshman Reading) 6:00 p.m.
Monday, May 22: Finals — 7:50 a.m. (2nd period exam); 10:05 a.m. (5th period); 12:05 p.m. (lunch)
Tuesday, May 23: Finals: 7:50 a.m. (7th period exam); 10:05 a.m. (9th period); 12:05 a.m. (lunch)
Wednesday, May 24: Finals: 7:50 a.m. (3rd period exam); 10:05 a.m. (8th period); 12:05 a.m. (lunch)
Thursday, May 25: Last Day of Classes; 7:50 a.m. (6th period final exam); 10:05 a.m. (4th period exam); 12:05 p.m. (lunch)
Tuesday, May 30: Graduation Ceremony, 7 p.m.
