LeBron James To The Houston Rockets? Perhaps

Should LeBron James leave the Cavaliers next summer as expected, the Houston Rockets are one of three teams most likely on his radar

HOUSTON, TX — The Houston Rockets could land a dream team before the 2018-19 season begins. Rumors have begun amid speculation that LeBron James could land in Clutch City next summer. The Rockets have already kept one superstar in James Harden and picked up another in Chris Paul. Should the Rockets sign another star in the future, then James could fall in place.

LeBron James' contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers expires in 2019, but he can opt out during the summer of 2018. With expectations of James moving on to another franchise, three teams have surfaced as the frontrunner. Those are the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers and the Rockets.

James has a home in a Los Angeles suburb and he could be a part of the next Showtime. James has a history with the Heat as he guided them to a pair of NBA titles (2012, 2013). He took his hometown Cavaliers to the 2016 NBA title. He has been to eight NBA Finals, four each with Miami and Cleveland.

The other scenarios is Houston, which now has star players Harden and Paul. According to CSN writer Chris Mannix, if the Rockets can sign megastar Carmelo Anthony, then it might lure King James to Houston, which hasn't won an NBA title since the 1994-95 season, which was also their last Finals appearance.

"You’re telling me that those three guys wouldn’t spend the entire season, entire year, recruiting LeBron? We just saw this with Draymond Green, the Warriors, and Kevin Durant. I think those guys would do the same thing to try to lure LeBron to Houston," Mannix said.

This comes on the heels of Rockets owner Les Alexander announcing his team is for sell, and that amount could go as high as $1.3 billion. Whoever has those kind of deep pockets surely would have some change leftover to lure James in to try and bring the Rockets another title.
