'Lesbian Porn' Shown In Houston Elementary Classroom, Father Says

Parent says his daughter and other students were subjected to image of naked women kissing.

HOUSTON, TX — The Houston Independent School District said it is investigating claims that inappropriate images were shown to students at Longfellow Elementary School last week during a presentation on the life cycle of butterflies.

"An inappropriate image inadvertently appeared while a teacher attempted to show students a YouTube video about butterflies," a statement from the school district said. "School administrators were notified along with the district's IT department, which is reviewing the matter."

According to Ashley Anthony, a senior media relations specialist with the district, Longfellow officials notified parents of children in the fifth-grade class who were exposed to the images.

The father of a student in the class contacted KTRK and said lesbian pornography "popped up" on a projector screen in his daughter's class; he also claimed that it was only after he began asking questions about the incident that the Longfellow principal sent the note to parents.

"I'm mad about it. Something needs to be done immediately," he said. "It was two women. They were naked and they were kissing, that was one pop-up. The other video had a font or text saying, 'If you want to watch lesbian porn, click here.'"

The man, who requested anonymity, told the network that he expected a better response from the district.

KRTK reported that the teacher involved in the incident, whom the network is not identifying, hung up when contacted by phone and asked about it.
