Man Jumps To His Death On Gulf Freeway, Closing Lanes for Hours

Police officials say victim, in his 20s, fell 25 feet from overpass near Fuqua Street on Tuesday morning.

HOUSTON, TX — A male in his 20s jumped to his death on Tuesday morning from an overpass in the 12500 block of Gulf Freeway near Fuqua Street, police officials said, adding that the victim was probably killed from the impact.

All southbound lanes near the scene were close for at least two hours today, and officials opened them after 8 a.m.

The victim, who has not been publicly identified, jumped from the overpass around 6 a.m. He was hit by one car, as reported by KHOU, whose driver police say did not stop at the scene and may not have known the object was a body.
