Man Shot During Argument Over A Slim Jim Beef Stick

While stepping into a Slim Jim, one man got shot in the leg at a North Houston gas station Tuesday afternoon.

HOUSTON, TX — One man probably should have ventured more carefully before he dared to "step into a Slim Jim" as an argument over the popular beef stick led to him getting shot in the leg at a north Houston gas station Tuesday afternoon.

According to Houston police, a group of men stopped at the Chevron convenience store at I-45 and West Little York Road. One of the men who went inside to get Slim Jim got into an argument with the store's owner — an argument over whether the man paid for the item or not.

Police say witnesses saw the owner shoot the man in his leg. The man was taken to Ben Taub Hospital for surgery and is expected to survive.
