Like Meatballs? Get Ready For The Houston Brawl
Damian's Cucina Italiana to host cook-off; proceeds will benefit Texas Italian-American Sports Foundation.
Meatballs are an 0ft-abused food, too many times served dry, desiccated even. Also under-seasoned, bland, too dense ... you get the picture. What makes the ideal meatball? That's what 10 restaurants hope to demonstrate on April 23 at the 2017 Meatball Brawl.
Chefs and their cooks will convene at Damian's Cucina Italiana for the competition, which will benefit the Texas Italian-American Sports Foundation. The foundation funds scholarships for local athletes. In addition, a donation will be made in honor of Frankie Mandola, a prominent Houston restaurateur who died on 2016.

Pi Pizza, Antone's Famous Po'boys, Sud Italia, Emmaline (soon to open), Holley's Seafood Restaurant & Oyster Bar, Nobie's, D'Amico's Italian Market Café, Weights & Measures, Brennan's of Houston, and Brooklyn Meatball Company.
What will it cost you to taste some meatballs, drink some wine and beer, and help a good cause? All of that for $55. The Meatball Brawl kicks off at 1 p.m., so come hungry. Get your tickets here.
