Wine Time: Don't Miss These Exciting Houston-Area Dinners

No matter your palate preference or knowledge level, there are bottles and pairings galore in the Bayou City.

HOUSTON, TX — The Bayou City's wine scene is never boring; every day brings a new tasting event or wine dinner, and people from The Woodlands to Clear Lake are clamoring to learn about Malbec, Pinot Noir, and cava, not to mention Riesling and AVAs and harvesting methods.

An Evening with the Makers of Ryme and Petrichor at The Pass — The people at this restaurant love these wineries, and are bringing in principals from both of them for a dinner on Thursday, April 13, at 7 p.m. Here's what the Pass team say about the wines:

"Two of our favorite wineries—both run by husband/wife teams—also share winemakers. Margaret Foley, grower/producer of Petrichor Vineyards along with her husband Jim, and Megan Glaab, winemaker for both Petrichor and Ryme Cellars with her husband Ryan, will join us for a dinner in The Pass featuring wines from both wineries. "

The dinner will cost you $150 per person, plus tax and gratuity. 713-628-9020.

Domaine Jean-Philippe Marchand wine dinner with Jean-Philippe Marchand at Bistro Provence — There's something to be said about négociants, and while the wines they produce might not be for everyone, Marchand produces some that are certainly worth knowing about. The man himself will be at this dinner at the charming French bistro, so he'll answer all your questions. You'll dine on Texas quail, beef filet, and other items. It takes place on April 20 at 7 p.m., and it will cost you $110 plus tax and tip. 713-827-8008.
