1 Killed, Another Injured In North Austin Shooting

Police arrived at the Limestone Canyon Apartments, 12118 Walnut Park Crossing, where they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.

AUSTIN, TX — A man was killed and another injured in a North Austin shooting on Thursday, officials revealed the following day.

In an advisory issued on Friday, police said officers responded at around 4:35 p.m. to multiple calls of shots fired in the parking lot of the Limestone Canyon Apartments at 12118 Walnut Park Crossing. Upon arrival, police said they found silver vehicle that had crashed into a garage along with two men outside the vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds.

One of the shooting victims, Donato Christian Ward, 20, was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center where he succumbed Friday morning just after 7:20 a.m., according to the advisory. The other man who was shot, Ward's cousin, remains in stable condition at an area hospital, police said.

Detectives interviewed witnesses who reported a sedan-style vehicle speeding away from the scene after the shooting, police said.
