Area Organization Works To Help Families In Need Amid Coronavirus

Austin Voices for Education and Youth provide valuable resources for area families in need during the current public health crisis.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Austin Voices for Education and Youth, creating community collaboration to strengthen families, support kids and improve schools, offer opportunities for area residents to donate, including gift cards, to support families during the current COVID-19 crisis.

In an effort to continue assisting families in need, Austin Voices, in partnership with city, county, nonprofit, and community partners have mobilized to connect people in need with much needed resources during the current public health crisis. Recently, the Family Resource Center which serves approximately 4,000 families every year, adjusted their services from walk-in to a phone and video chat model.

Austin Voices is helping area families through food pantries, in partnership with Central Texas Food Bank, and is held two campuses each week and serving between 100-250 families at each site. Donations and volunteers are needed to continue advancing the mission of Austin Voices, and individuals interested in helping are encouraged to email info@austinvoices.org.
