Austin Chamber Of Commerce Hosts Webinar To Discuss Data Security

The June 11 webinar will discuss the importance of data security in a remote workplace as more employees work-from-home amid COVID-19.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX —The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the workforce landscape for businesses in communities across the country. As employees adjust to performing their work from home, data security becomes an important topic needing to be addressed. The Austin Chamber of Commerce produces a series of PowerUp webinars aimed at offering useful and relevant information on navigating business practices.

The Chamber's next webinar, "Data Security In A Remote Workplace" scheduled on Thursday, June 11 from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m. CST will feature IT leaders from Forcepoint, Dell Technologies and Silicon Labs discussing best practices for organizations of all sizes to use as they adapt to a new normal. The webinar will discuss topics including:

  • Applications – You’ve already found a way to give your people access to the internal and cloud-based applications they need to do their jobs. However, do you have enough insight on how, where, and when they use those apps?
  • Email – Most employees access email from their phones, but even with email security in place, coronavirus-related phishing is up dramatically. How can you educate your users and defend them against increased attacks?
  • Web – With the lines between home and work blurring, people are surfing non-work sites from the same devices they use to access your corporate data and apps. Getting your users to use web defenses are more important than ever.
  • Data – Keeping your business running is job one, but preventing data from being stolen or compromised while people work from home is a close second.
