Child, 2 Adults Injured In North Austin Apartment Fire

Several residents of an apartment complex off the North MoPac Expressway have been displaced.

AUSTIN, TX — Nearly two dozen residents of an apartment complex off the North MoPac Expressway in the North Austin neighborhood have been displaced after an overnight fire. Three people, including one child, have been hospitalized with serious injuries due to the blaze, according to reports.

Flames were spotted from the roof of the Bridge at Terracina apartment complex as early as 12:45 a.m. Sunday, according to a KXAN Austin report. One of the units was fully engulfed, and the blaze went into a second alarm.

The fire was put out by the Austin Fire Department, but not before 22 residents were displaced. The two adults and one child were hospitalized with "potentially serious" injuries, according to FOX 7 reporter Casey Claiborne.

The American Red Cross is helping the residents who have been displaced.

“Our main focus, two main focuses was getting water on the fire and evacuating everybody,” Austin Fire Department battalion chief Matt Cox said during a media briefing, KXAN reported.
