🌱 Comprehensive Plan Hearings In April + Heritage House Partners

Here are the top stories in North Austin-Pflugerville today:

  1. Next month, two public hearings will be held "to consider the adoption of the Aspire Pflugerville 2040 Comprehensive Plan." The first hearing by the Planning and Zoning Commission will be held on Monday, April 4, at 7 p.m. The second hearing by the City Council will be on Tuesday, April 12 at 7 p.m. Both hearing will be held at City Hall Council Chambers at 100 E Main St, Suite 500, and "the agenda for each public hearing will be posted 72 hours prior to the public hearing date.   2. If you're interested in local history, consider joining the Heritage House Partners organization, which "works with the library to provide programs and upkeep" at the local history museum in town. The group is looking for partners to "promote, preserve and protect the history of Pflugerville as they enlighten, enrich and educate those who visit the museum."   3. On Sunday, March 27, a stretch of left lanes on Interstate 35 closed in North Austin due to "main lane and frontage road constructions." According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the southbound left lane of I-35, from U.S. Highway 290 East to Rundberg Lane, will be closed every night from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. until Thursday, March 31. The project is part "of TxDOT’s multiyear project to reconstruct the roadway and add three additional flyovers at U.S. Highway 183. Originally, the "construction began in January 2018 and is expected to wrap this year, with a sticker price of $124.2 million." For more information visit: (KXAN.com)

Come meet your local firefighters, tour the station, sit in a fire truck and participate in activities for the whole family." (Facebook)
  • "The Pflugerville Quilt Guild had their Quilting Basics class on Saturday, March 26, at the Wells Branch Community Library. Treasurer and teacher, Sarah Spence, taught two different methods for Quilt as You Go to a group of ten. They will be continuing their series of quilting skill builders every 4th Saturday.
