Dad, 2 Kids Injured In Austin Apartment Fire; 10 Displaced
Fire officials said the fire was accidental and there were no working smoke detectors in the apartment.

AUSTIN, TX — A man and his two children were taken to the hospital after an early morning apartment fire in Austin on Saturday.
According to the Austin Fire Department, the fire in the 8300 North block of I-35 broke out at the Woodland Heights Apartments. Officials said the man in the apartment where the fire broke a window to escape with his two children.
The man suffered burns and lacerations and the kids were taken to the hospital for possible smoke inhalation.

A total of 10 people were displaced from the apartment building because of the fire. The first-floor apartment where the fire broke out was heavily damaged.
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental and was started by unattended cooking.
