🌱 Downtown East Project Meeting + Three Shootings In North Austin

Here are the top stories today in North Austin-Pflugerville:

  1. On Wednesday, April 27, "The City of Pflugerville will hold its first public meeting for the Downtown East Project." The meeting will take place from 6-8 p.m. at City Council Chambers, located at 100 E. Main St., Suite 500. During the meeting, "attendees will have the opportunity to explore project information boards, give feedback, view a presentation at 7 p.m., and meet the project team." A topic of discussion will be "to include a municipal complex and recreation center" at Pfluger Tract and "developing a conceptual plan and exploring market driven opportunities before bringing the vision to life."   3. This past weekend, "three separate shootings" occurred, with two in North Austin and one downtown. The first one happened on Saturday night "at 507 E. Wonsley Drive near East Anderson Lane in north Austin." A man was shot and was taken to the hospital, and although police didn't receive the report until he was at the hospital, they expect him to recover. The second one happened on Sunday, April 24, "on North Lamar Boulevard near the West Rundberg Lane intersection in north Austin." At that time, "a woman was shot," but is also "expected to recover." The third one was "on Elmont Drive near South Pleasant Valley Road." According to police, two men were arguing and one of them shot the other, but again, the victim "is expected to recover."
