Early Morning Fire in North Austin Caused by Cigarette Lighter

A fire on a third-floor apartment at Lincoln Oaks on the 11700 block of Metric Boulevard was caused by a cigarette lighter malfunction, according to the Austin American-Statesman.

The apartment suffered heavy fire damage and two other apartments suffered water damage. No injuries were reported.

The fire was reported around 3 a.m. and residents were alerted by the smoke alarms.
