Although it's "unclear if the tornadoes caused any casualties," some damages occurred to buildings nearby, and thousands of residents were without power. Tyler Ankrum "became the first NASCAR pole winner at 'Circuit of the Americas' (COTA)" in 2021, and he "went on to finish third in the inaugural event." He said, "To have my very own day in Austin is crazy, but it's truly an honor to be recognized and represent not only the city of Austin, but the more than 500,000 'Laborers International of North America' (LIUNA) members and all the NASCAR fans out there." On Saturday, March 26, the "Tyler Ankrum Day" mayor's proclamation event will be held at 9:30 a.m. "at HRE's No. 16 hauler in the Camping World Trucks garage" and will be broadcast live at noon on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Channel 90.
