Generation SERVE Hosts Summer Long Volunteer Opportunities

The 2nd Summer Volunteer-A-Thon invites families and kids to volunteer in the community for 10 hours beginning in June and ending in August.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — As summer quickly approaches, and families begin planning around how to keep kids busy amid the school break, Central Texas residents will have a great opportunity to keep children engaged and active while supporting the community with the 2nd Annual Summer Volunteer-A-Thon. The summer long celebration running in June, July and August and sponsored by Generation SERVE gives Central Texas youth the chance to give back to their community with 10 hours of volunteering throughout the summer.

Area families may register to participate in this free challenge via the Generation SERVE website, as well as finding other details regarding volunteer opportunities. Families with children as young as 3 years old volunteer together for family service activities. The volunteer work organized by Generation SERVE supports 100 nonprofit partners with opportunities offered in Austin and Houston.

The Service Learning Program pairs education with service, allowing youth to learn about a community need alongside peers and apply what they've learned to a project of their own.
