Gold Hornet Hosts Virtual Young Composers Concert Via YouTube
Golden Hornet's 5th Annual Young Composer Concert showcases the works of young Austin musicians between the ages of 8 and 18.
NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Gold Hornet, commissioning new music, fostering young and emerging composers, and presenting adventurous works in non-traditional settings, will host their Virtual Young Composers Concert to feature new music composed by young musicians from Austin between the ages of 8 and 18. The virtual showcase will spotlight the works of talented local composers and will be held virtual via YouTube with video and audio editing by Jordan Walsh.
The virtual concert will be held Sunday, August 23 from 2 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. and will feature composers interviewed on stage, with their pieces performed by local, professional ensemble Tetractys. This concert is collectively produced by the program participants under the guidance of Golden Hornet's experienced staff and hosted by Graham Reynolds. Featured works include:
