Homes Tour Showcases The Best Of MCM Architecture
The 12th Annual ATX Modern Home Tour and MCM Block Party will feature stunning homes followed by a block party at Starlight Village.
NORTH AUSTIN, TX —In recent years, midcentury modern architecture and design has seen a resurgence in recent years and it seems people can't get enough of all the beautiful qualities associated with the MCM mystique. Sleek, elegant, sophisticated - these adjectives are some of the ways to define what sets MCM architecture apart, and on Saturday, Feb. 22, Austin friends and neighbors will have a chance to explore a showcase of Austin's most stunning architecture with the 12th Annual Austin Modern Home Tour and MCM Block Party.
Ticket-holders are invited to take a tour of the featured homes and continue touring into the evening at the Starlight Village Mid-Century Modern Block Party that is included with your ticket. Starlight Village is a private community entirely of MCM-inspired architecture located 20 minutes north of Austin in Leander, and has been featured on HGTV, in Dwell, Atomic Ranch Magazine and others. Starlight Village residents will open their homes to the tour-goers at 3 p.m. on the day of the event, and there will be a retro DJ, food trucks and more to enjoy.
How the tour works: The self-guided Austin Modern Home Tour offers a look at some of the most amazing architecture, with an opportunity to learn about the creative minds behind the designs. The 12+ Tour homes, and additional open homes in Starlight Village, may be visited in any order at your own pace. You're offered a day to explore, learn and enjoy the event with other architecture and design lovers. Tickets are $50 on the day of the event and include access to the Starlight Village MCM Block Party. Pre-sale discounted tickets are available in advance, and as a courtesy to the private homeowners, event organizers ask that tour-goers be at least 10 years of age. For more click HERE.
