Hotel Shooting Suspects Sought By Austin Police

The October shooting at the Quality Inn and Suites on Gessner Drive left a man with gunshot wounds.

AUSTIN, TX — Police are seeking a pair of suspects wanted in connection with a shooting at a North Austin hotel in October that left a man injured.

The incident occurred on Monday, Oct. 5, around 12:30 a.m. along the 7900 block of Gessner Drive, according to a police advisory. Police said a man walked out of the Quality Inn and Suites to retrieve personal property from his vehicle when he heard what he believed were fireworks. The man turned in the direction of the sound, police said, and saw two men approaching him.

Both suspects fired weapons multiple times, police said, striking both the victim and the vehicle. The suspects fled after the shooting as they ran northbound on Gessner Drive, police said. The victim, meanwhile, was aided by a friend who ushered him inside the hotel as detailed in the police report.

Arriving officers applied a tourniquet to the wound before Austin-Travis County EMS medics transported the shooting victim to a local hospital. The man was treated for injuries with non-life threatening injuries before being released, police said.

Detectives urge those with information or video of the incidents to call the Crime Stoppers tip line at (512) 472-8477 (TIPS) or use the Crime Stoppers app. Police stressed that those submiting tips have the option of remaining anonymous. Information leading to an arrest is eligible for a reward of up to $1,000, police added. Tips also can be submitted by downloading the police department's mobile app, Austin PD, free on iPhone and Android.
