🌱 Local Motorcycle Accident + May 7 General Election Local Races

Here are the top stories in North Austin-Pflugerville today:

  1. On Saturday, April 9, at approximately 1 a.m. "a motorcyclist died following a crash along the SH 130 Frontage Road...at the intersection of Kelly Lane and FM 685/SH 130 Frontage Road" in Pflugerville. According to police, the motorcyclist was "heading north on FM 685" and "hit a vehicle driving east on Kelly Lane." Unfortunately, the motorcyclist died at the scene, but driver of the car was not injured, and no arrest was made at the time. For more details visit: (KXAN.com)
  2. "As part of the May 7 general election, several local races" are taking place in Pflugerville and Hutto, including "races for the Hutto ISD and Pflugerville ISD boards of trustees as well as Hutto City Council." Two candidates that are running in the "race for Pflugerville ISD, Place 3, are "incumbent Renae Mitchell" who is "running against challenger Pat McCord." The voter guide includes "interviews in the question-and-answer section" that were "edited for length and clarity," as well as "important dates to know, voter turnout histories for key elections years in Travis and Williamson counties and a sample ballot of all the other candidates running in local races in Hutto and Pflugerville." First day of early voting is Monday, April 25, and the last day to apply for a ballot via mail is Tuesday, April 26. Please note that it must be received by that day, and not postmarked by then. The last day of early voting is Tuesday, May 3, and election day is Saturday, May 7. That is also the last day to receive a ballot by mail, or by Monday, May 9, if the carrier envelope is postmarked by 7 p.m. at the election location.
