🌱Mayor Gonzales Receives Lifetime Achievement Award + Volunteers

  1. Pflugerville Mayor Victor Gonzales received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet held on Tuesday, March 8. The award was presented to him based on the "recognition of his leadership, public service and dedication to the city he loves." Dough Weiss, Mayor Pro Tem, said, "His leadership has guided Pflugerville through 2021's unprecedented winter storm and the COVID-19 pandemic. Often unseen by the community is the number of hours he spends working in the Emergency Operations Center, his nightly meeting commitments and volunteering of his time to ensure that Pflugerville residents have what they need.   2. Victim Services volunteers are needed to "work with victims of family violence, sexual assault, child victims, elderly victims, survivors of suicide and homicide, and victims of other violent crimes." On Monday, April 4, the Pflugerville Police Department will be accepting applications for volunteers (21 and over) until 5 p.m. Mandatory training will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-9:30 p.m. and a required orientation session will be held on Tuesday, April 12, with classes starting on Thursday, April 14.
