Melissa Neel Named Finance Director For City Of Pflugerville

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — Melissa Neel has been named finance director for the City of Pflugerville, officials announced Tuesday.

Neel's appointment was made official during Tuesday's city council meeting. In that role, Neel will oversee preparation of the annual municipal budget, utility billing, customer service, citywide purchasing, payroll and financial reports, officials said in an advisory.

Neel brings 23 years of experience as a financial analyst, consultant, planner and most recently, serving as the assistant director of finance for the City of San Marcos, according to a provided bio. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Texas State University and a Masters of Business Administration from Webster University, according to the bio. She has experience providing leadership in municipal budgeting, managing economic development incentives and developing and implementing new financial policies, officials added.

She will start her new role in Pflugerville on Dec. 7, city officials said.
