National Night Out Promotes Police-Community Partnerships
Pflugerville PD invites area neighborhoods to register for the Oct. 1 national community-building campaign to create safer communities.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — National Night Out, the annual community-building campaign held throughout the country promoting police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie, takes place Tuesday, Oct. 1.
The City of Pflugerville will participate and join thousands of communities nationwide to promote safer neighborhoods and more caring places to live. Supported by the National Association of Town Watch and in part by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Justice Programs and the U.S. Department of Justice, National Night Out is an effort to promote involvement within our communities.
Neighbors are encouraged to organize Block Parties by getting together and deciding on a location. Sending out flyers, emails or posters help communities organize and ensure turnout. The Pflugerville Police Department accepts completed registration forms for block parties and notifies police, city officials and other emergency personnel about the events planned so that they may attend. Snacks, drinks and cookouts are block party staples and offer a great opportunity to create a fun and wholesome atmosphere.
