- "Due to budget constraints, the opening of Hidden Lake Elementary for the school year 2022-23," is going to be suspended, even though the school building is almost halfway complete. The building is located in the Villages of Hidden Lake subdivision near Lake Pflugerville at 18218 Hidden Lake Drive. The announcement was made by the Pflugerville Independent School District (PfISD) on Friday, April 22. "The cost of opening a new elementary school is estimated to be $3 million, and according to a news release sent to parents, district staff said, "although we recognize the need for an elementary on the east side of the district due to increasing enrollment, PfISD is also facing budget difficulties." For now, "all students previously zoned to attend Hidden Lake will remain at their currently zoned campus" and although "there is no set date for when the campus will open," once it does, it "will include students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade." - The owner and general manager of Adelbert's Brewery located at 231r Rutland Drive #100 recently found out that the building was going "to be torn down and replaced with an office building." Sadly, they got the news as they were preparing to celebrate the venue's 11th year anniversary. General Manager Sean Farmer said, "We were actually discussing what our future plans are and noticed a bunch of surveyors in our parking lot, who then started surveying the lot and the building. We started to reach out to our landlord, found out that yes, they're currently trying to sell the building and we will probably not get a renewal on our lease." Customer Cristal Benitez, said, ""I was really sad, and I immediately came when I heard the news. Me and my boyfriend just came to grab a beer and show some support." Their last day will be Monday, Oct. 31 and "their taproom will remain open for events and Austin FC games until November." For more details visit: (KEYE TV CBS Austin)
