Nonpartisan Conference Educates Students About Civic Engagement

NORTH AUSTIN, TX —Texas Voting Summit 2020Texas Voting Summit 2020, a nonpartisan conference educating Texas college students and administrators about best practices in civic engagement spaces, will host the online event and invites all Texas schools to attend with no limit on the number of students in attendance. The summit will be held Friday, August 14 (Texas Voting Summit); Saturday, August 15 (Texas Voting Summit); Saturday, August 22 (Bonus Advocacy Day) from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Hosted by TX Votes in partnership with the Annette Strauss Institute, Campus Vote Project, and Campus Compact, students, faculty and administrators from colleges and universities across Texas attending the summit learn how to best engage in civic participation amid COVID-19. The Texas Voting Summit will feature:

• Voter Registration and Election Process Panels
• Instruction on best practices for voter education
• Connections to the voter registration tools and networks, such as the National Study of Learning, Voting, and Engagement (NSLVE), the Strengthening American Democracy action plan template, the Voter Friendly Campus Designation, and the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge
• Unlocking future funding for nonpartisan civic engagement activities for Fall 2020 on your campus.
