North Austin Bike Enthusiasts Enjoy Range Of Classes, Activities

NORTH AUSTIN, TX— A new year affords a perfect opportunity to take on new hobbies, or reconnect with your favorite activities. Austin's Yellow Bike Project, a non profit that works to reuse bicycles and to provide tools, workspace, and guidance for all, host a range of classes, programs and projects to enrich the community.

From bike sales to community-based workshops (by reservation only), you're able to enjoy a range of activities and events the organization offers. For a calendar of all scheduled activities and events, and information about Austin's Yellow Bike Project's COVID-19 guidelines, click HERE.

Upcoming Schedule of Events:

• Third Saturday Bike Sales: City Bikes, Hybrids, Mountain and Road Bikes will be on sale. Next sale is Jan 16, 2021 9AM-Noon. Come early for best selection of style and size. COVID INFO: Face mask and social distancing required. Sale will be outdoors at the parking lot gate. Shoppers will not have access to the yard nor the shop.

• Accepting Donations of Bikes and Parts: While the shop remains closed, the organization is now accepting donations of bikes and parts on Tuesdays from 2pm to 6pm. When dropping off donations, please remain in your vehicle (or on your bike!) and dial 512-524-5299 for assistance.

• Shop Used Parts: Suspended due to Stage-5 COVID

• Community Workshops: By Reservation-Only. See the calendar below for the limited space workshops. Reservation required. Get help working on your own bike or learn skills by refurbishing a YBP bike destined for donation to a needy client. Space is very limited for sign-up reservations. Walk-ins cannot be accommodated, and shops will not necessarily show on the Events calendar below.

• Volunteer Workshops: By Reservation Only. See the calendar below for the limited space volunteer workshops that are available for sign-up reservations. Reservation are open on a two week rolling window. Walk-ins cannot be accommodated.

• Bicycle Maintenance Classes: By Reservation Only. Certain classes will be offered over Zoom. Check availability and sign up here.

• Monthly YBP Collective Meeting. First Tuesday 7-9PM
