North Austin YMCA Seeks Volunteers For Community Garden Revamp
Volunteers are asked to register for an afternoon updating garden beds at the North Y community garden in preparation for planting season.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Calling all volunteers! If you're looking for opportunities to give back to the community this 2020, then the YMCA North Austin and the City of Austin Parks and Recreation need your help. The YMCA North Austin Community Recreation Center offers incredible amenities to the traditionally underserved community in Austin, including the North Austin Community Garden where neighbors gather to connect with nature.
In an effort to revitalize the garden in time for planting season, volunteers are needed to update the garden beds, remove brush and debris, add mulch pathways and assist in weeding, while working alongside plot owners and community members. Tools will be provided, as well as KIND bars for snacking, gloves, and fresh, cold drinking water, however, volunteers are asked to bring their own water bottles to reduce waste. The volunteer opportunity is free, but requires registration. For more details and to register, click HERE.
Participants meet here at the Community Garden, near the corner of Mearns Meadow and Rutland. Please park across Rutland near Quail Creek Park if possible. In advance, the North Y thanks you for your participation.
