Online Training Course Helps Families Develop Healthy Routines

The free online course, The Peaceful Household for Parents of 5-10 Year Olds, offers training to help families with effective communication.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX —With kids at home and families transitioning to virtual learning amid the COVID-19 pandemic, it's natural for challenges to arise under the "new normal". For parents of children ages 5-10 years old finding it difficult to follow a healthy routine, or for parents being met with pushback from kids to engage in healthy activities such as walks, help with chores, etc., the free online course, The Peaceful Household for Parents of 5-10 Year Olds, offers online training on positive reinforcement centered on your child's love language.

Child Behavior Specialist, Brandy Simison, will offer insight to help parents learn how to build five key daily habits such as:

  • Following a routine
  • Picking up after themselves
  • Taking initiative
  • Trying new things
  • Tracking progress toward a goal

The training is not a reward chart system where a child is rewarded with items, rather it offers a child motivation via their love language. A love language is a person's way in which they understand/receive love, and participants will learn how to apply their love language to motivate their children.
